When ever there is a construction work to do for the community, the people of Salasaka call out for a "Minga". This means that everybody from the community comes together to work and get the job done quicker.

This time volunteers participated in a "minga" to get a new canal for their community, Patuloma.

Something is coming up!!

The big Tzawar Mishki festival, an international and intercultural event that takes place every year on the 3rd and 4th of November in Salasaka, is getting closer!
This year the famous group "Chila Jatun" from Peru are going to perform and over 3.000 visitors are expected.
But not only foreign musicians are playing in the concert. Our English students from the children's group are going to perform "Imagine" by John Lennon.

Here is a short preview:

The Weekend

This weekend volunteers went to a close waterfall called "El Pailon del Diablo".
It's just after Baños on the way to Puyo. So it takes 1h 30min to get there from Salasaka.

And it's totally worth visiting!
